ITP software for subcontractors

ITP software replaces paper or spreadsheet Inspection and Test Plans with a record kept on site: each stage of each item is ticked as it's done, with who and when, then signed off and exported. WNDW does this for Australian commercial subcontractors — from $99 a month per project, unlimited users, and the builder signs from an emailed link without an account.

What should you look for in ITP software?

New to ITPs? Start with what an ITP is. If you're choosing software, check these:

Look forWhy it mattersHow WNDW handles it
Works with no reception Basements, risers and scaffolds don't have signal. If the app needs it, ticks get done from memory at the end of the week. Ticks and photos save on the phone with no reception and sync when you're back in range.
Who and when on every tick A tick nobody can attribute is worth nothing when there's a dispute. Every tick records who entered it and when, and every change is logged.
Photos tied to the stage A photo you can't find, or can't place, isn't evidence. Photos are taken in the app at the opening and tagged to the stage, with the date, time and opening burned in. Gallery uploads are labelled as uploads.
Record locks before sign-off Nobody should be able to change a record after it's gone out for signature. The record locks when the level closes, then goes out for signature. Only the office can reopen it, and that withdraws the signatures.
Builder signs without an account If signing needs a licence or a login, it doesn't happen. The builder signs from an emailed link in their phone's browser — no app, no account.
Signature tied to the version signed You need to prove what was signed, not just that something was. Each signature is tied to a fingerprint of the record. If anything changes afterwards, the PDF flags it.
A PDF the builder recognises Builders already have a format in mind and send back anything that looks different. Every opening listed with its stages alongside, each showing the date and who ticked it — laid out like the ITP facade subcontractors already send builders.
Same ticks drive the claim Rebuilding progress for the claim each month is where the office hours go. Stage weights set per job turn the ticks into the progress claim, so the claim and the ITP read from the same record.
Your records if you stop Your evidence has to outlive the subscription. Every signed ITP is a PDF you and the builder keep, and photos export as a ZIP per level, named by opening, stage and date.

Is WNDW the right fit?

It fits if

You run commercial jobs with lots of the same thing going in — openings, wet areas, penetrations — each going through the same stages, level by level. Facade and glazing subcontractors are where WNDW started.

Look elsewhere if

  • You're a head contractor after one QA platform for every trade — see how the options compare.
  • Your jobs have fewer than about 30 items, where a spreadsheet still does the job.
  • You need a custom form builder for checklists that don't follow items through stages.

WNDW is the subcontractor's record. It helps you keep evidence. It doesn't replace the builder's QA, certifier inspections or compliance certificates.

Which trades is it for?

From $99 a month per project, sized by the job and capped per project. Unlimited users. No setup fees. 14 days free. See pricing.

Questions people ask

Do builders need an account to sign the ITP?

No. They get a link by email, open it in their phone's browser and sign. No app, no account. The link is single-use and expires after 7 days.

Does it work without reception?

Yes for the site work: ticks and photos save on the phone and sync when you're back in range. The job needs to have been opened once with signal, and generating or sending the ITP needs a connection.

Can we set the stages to match the builder's ITP?

Yes. Every job has its own stage list — names, order and claim weights — set to match that job's ITP and contract. There's no fixed number of stages.

What if a test fails and has to be redone?

WNDW records a stage when it is done, not a fail result. Add a note and photos to the opening when a test fails, and tick the stage when the retest passes — the tick carries the date it actually passed.

How much does ITP software cost?

WNDW is priced per project. From $99 a month per project, sized by the job and capped per project. Unlimited users. No setup fees. 14 days free. A project that goes quiet costs less that month.

What happens to my records if I stop paying?

Every signed ITP is a PDF you and the builder already hold, and photos export as a ZIP per level. Download what you need before you cancel.

Does it connect to Aconex or Procore?

Not directly. You send the builder the ITP PDF and the photo ZIP, and they upload them to Aconex, Procore or whatever system they run, like any other document.

Can ITPs feed progress claims?

Yes. Each job's stages carry claim weights, so the openings ticked on a level value that level's progress claim. The claim and the ITP read from the same ticks.

Is there an ISO standard for ITPs?

No ISO standard prescribes what an ITP looks like. ISO 9001 (quality management systems requirements) asks for documented evidence that planned checks were done before work is released, and ISO 10005:2018 gives guidance on quality plans, but what your ITP must contain is set by the builder's QA system, your subcontract and the project spec. WNDW keeps the inspection evidence those systems ask subcontractors for.
