WNDW vs HoldPoint.

HoldPoint is an Australian ITP and sign-off product for trade contractors. Master templates at company level, imported into projects as frozen copies, applied across areas. Sign-off on mobile or by emailed link, branded PDF out the other end. It's a clean, focused product and it does the ITP job properly.

Where HoldPoint is better.

Template authoring

If your ITP content varies job to job and you want to write it yourself, HoldPoint's master template system is more flexible than WNDW's stage setup. Applying one template across twenty levels in a few clicks is genuinely fast.

Combined sign-off packs

HoldPoint merges every document in an area into a single PDF and sends it in one email. If your builder wants one attachment per level covering everything, that's a real convenience.

Conditions capture

GPS and live weather stamped onto every signature. For concrete and external works that's a useful defence.

Time to first document

HoldPoint is faster to stand up if all you need is an ITP register.

Where WNDW is different.

What HoldPoint tracks

A document sitting in an area. A level holds twelve ITPs.

What WNDW tracks

The opening. A level holds 84 items, each with a stage, a rate and a value.

That difference produces three things HoldPoint doesn't attempt:

The ITP is generated, not filled in

In WNDW an ITP is a report off the opening records. Nobody transcribes site state into a checklist, because the checklist is the site state.

Progress claims come out

Marking openings off produces the claim line against the schedule of rates, with retention and variation handling. HoldPoint produces day labour dockets and payment claims for short jobs — a different instrument to a progress claim on a twelve-month facade package.

Cost per opening installed

Timesheet hours and completed openings are tracked together, so labour spend divides into installed quantity without anyone recording anything extra.

WNDW is also offline-first. Openings get marked off in basements, in podium levels and behind facades where there's no signal, and everything catches up when the phone gets signal again.

Which one should you pick.

Pick HoldPoint if

Your job is compliance paperwork. You need an ITP register, hold points enforced, signed PDFs filed, and you already handle claims in a spreadsheet or through the builder's portal and you're happy with that.

Pick WNDW if

The paperwork and the money are the same problem. You're installing countable items — openings, panels, units — across long projects, and you want one act on site to produce the evidence and the claim and the cost picture.

Plenty of subbies genuinely only need the first. If that's you, HoldPoint is a good product and we'd rather you knew that now.

See the difference yourself.
